Siser® EasyColor™ is a printable heat transfer vinyl (DTV) that lets you create vibrant, full-colour designs using your home inkjet printer. With Siser® EasyColour™, you can print your creativity and wear it too! Whether you’re making a single shirt or a custom gift, EasyColour™ offers professional-quality results—right from your desktop.
What You’ll Need:
- Siser® EasyColour™ DTV
- Inkjet printer
- Cutting machine (Siser® Juliet™)
- Weeding tool
- Siser® App Tape (optional)
- Teflon sheet or baking paper
- Heat press or iron
- A blank garment or item
Step 1: Prepare Your Design
Open Leonardo™ Design Studio or your preferred cutting software. Import your image and follow the prompts to generate the cut lines.
Resize your design to fit your project.
If you’re using a full-page layout, select the Page Mark icon in the right-hand dropdown box to fill the entire page with your design.
Once your layout is ready, click Send Design. You’ll see two layers:
-
- Artwork
- Contour Cut
Ensure the page size on your artboard matches your printer’s settings, then print your design.
💡Top Tip:
Always print on the white side of EasyColour™, not the grey backing.
Start with a print setting of copy paper and standard quality, and adjust if needed for your printer.
Step 2: Cut the Design
Place your printed design onto your cutting mat, matching the rotation of the design on screen.
Feed the mat into your Siser® Juliet™ (or compatible cutter) and align the blade over the bottom-left registration mark.
Select the cutting contour lines on the left of your screen, then choose the correct cut settings for your machine.
Send the job to your cutter.
Step 3: Weed the Design
Once cut, carefully weed away the excess vinyl.
For detailed or multi-piece designs, we recommend using Siser® TTD Application Tape to keep your design intact and make transfer easier. Peel off the backing, then carefully apply the clear sheet over your weeded design. It is not advised to apply the application tape, then weed.
Step 4: Apply to Your Garment
Pre-press your garment for a few seconds to any excess moisture and creases from the garment.
If applying EasyColor™ without App Tape, peel your design off the carrier backing and place it on the garment, on your heat press. Give the EasyColor™ a few seconds to relax as the heat softens the vinyl.
Cover with a Teflon sheet or baking paper.
Press at 155°C (311°F) for 15 seconds using medium pressure.
Step 5: Aftercare
Once pressed, let your project rest for 24 hours before washing. It is strongly recomended that you wash the garmet before wearing. This removes any excess dye from the surface.
Wash the garment inside out on a standard cycle at a maximum of 40°C (104°F) without any harsh detergents or fabric softener.
💡Extra Tips for Best Results
- Test your printer settings before printing your full design to ensure you get the best quality output from your EasyColour™.
- When creating designs for coloured garments, consider adding a coloured bleed around you design to help mask any minor misalignments during cutting.
